With the prospect of three valuable points on the line, both teams were looking to secure a win and improve their position in the group standings.

Bayer Leverkusen started the match with a strong attacking lineup, featuring the likes of Patrick Schick, Moussa Diaby, and Karim Bellarabi. The German side dominated possession from the start, pressing Ferencváros high up the pitch and creating numerous chances.

Their early pressure paid off in the 13th minute, as Schick received a pass from Bellarabi and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the net. Ferencváros responded well to the early setback, however, and began to create chances of their own. Their efforts were rewarded in the 37th minute, as Myrto Uzuni scored a stunning equalizer from outside the box, leaving Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky with no chance.

The second half saw both teams push for a winner, with Leverkusen in particular ramping up the pressure on Ferencváros. They were rewarded in the 70th minute, as substitute Leon Bailey scored a spectacular goal to put Leverkusen back in front. The Jamaican winger received a pass from Diaby on the left flank, cut inside onto his right foot, and curled a shot into the top corner of the net.

Ferencváros continued to battle until the final whistle, but were unable to find an equalizer. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Bayer Leverkusen, who secured a valuable three points to move closer to qualification for the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The match was a testament to the quality of both teams, who showed their attacking prowess and fighting spirit throughout the game. Leverkusen's strong start and late winner proved to be the difference, but Ferencváros can take pride in their performance and look to bounce back in their next Europa League match.
